After the success of his Russell’s on the Port restaurant, seasoned UK entrepreneur and restaurateur, Russell Foster envisaged a family-friendly establishment, which invites patrons of all ages to take full advantage of the panoramic view of the Port Owen Marina on the West Coast, while enjoying a wide variety of mouth-watering meals in a relaxed atmosphere.

And so Charlie’s Brewhouse was born…

Thys Stander, Hospitality Manager
Proudly born and bred West-Coaster Thys, holds numerous qualifications in bartending and a Chef School certificate. His mission is to get Charlie’s Brewhouse trending alongside the best eateries on the West Coast, while ensuring every patron enjoys a truly memorable experience. He ends his day with the Mushroom Pasta, washed down with a Charlie’s Lager (and maybe a shot of Tequila!).

Leandra Nero, Events Manager
Self-confessed people-person Leandra, has nine years’ experience in all sections of the industry, which has taught her how to motivate Charlie’s Brewhouse staff members and handle any situation with a positive attitude. After going the extra mile, constantly setting goals, building relationships and seeing patrons made happy on a daily basis, Leandra goes straight for her comfort food, the Burger.

What To Expect

Enjoy the rustic vibe inside or unwind outside on the patio with stunning marina views, Charlie’s Brewhouse is the perfect place to chill-out and reinvigorate. With ample space for up to 160 patrons, the choice is yours.

The raised, glass-panelled patio also serves as an idyllic location for private or corporate functions, while big screen TV’s make Charlie’s Brewhouse a winning environment for all sports lovers of any age. What’s more, our Marina boat cruise is only a hop, skip and a jump away, starting and ending right on our doorstep.

A Fusion Between British and West Coast Flavours

Tasked with creating a delicious gastronomic fusion between British pub fare and the finest West Coast flavours, Lovemore, our Head Chef, has exceeded all expectations and mastered a menu to please any palate.

Enjoy a range of bar snacks, also great as starters, which includes sea-fresh West Coast mussels, beer prawns and a charcuterie board, served with straight out-the-oven beer bread.

Hearty fare to feast on best describes the selection of mains at Charlie’s Brewhouse, Choose from Eisbein, pulled pork sandwiches and burgers with juicy homemade patties. Salads and vegetarian options are also available.

For those with a sweet tooth, the decadent dessert menu will definitely delight, offering chocolate and ale pudding, Eton mess and silky-smooth homemade ice cream.

The kids menu features all the favourites, such as hamburgers, crispy fish ‘n chips and bangers ‘n mash, making Charlie’s Brewhouse your first choice for family-friendly dining on the Cape West Coast.

Future Plans

Although we stock many popular, locally-sourced craft beers, we’re proud to announce that our own micro-brewery production facility is open since 2018. Our exciting new craft range will boast five beer variants; an American Pale Ale, Lager, Bourbon Stout , Blonde Ale and Orange Crystal Weiss.

We have recentley launched our own gin distillery Poetic Licence  which is right nextdoor to Charlies.

Charlie’s Brewhouse is situated at 1 Marina Centre, Port Owen, it is approximately 150km from the Cape Town Airport.
